Sometimes the options available don’t seem to be exactly right for us. We don’t feel ready for a care home, but living alone has become a daily struggle.

Services for tenants of Harbour Lodge include;

Services (inclusive within monthly rental)

  • All utilities (heating, lighting, electricity, oil, water etc)
  • Council tax/TV licence (and communal TV in main lounge)
  • Basic provisions as needed, which include: coffee; tea; milk; sugar; bread/butter; cereals, condiments, etc, restocked daily
  • Main meal of the day served in the bungalow, and cold snack supper if ordered before 11 am (OR: choice of eating lunch and full supper in the dining room of the main care home)
  • Cleaning of communal areas of Harbour Lodge (kitchen, utility room, dining area, lounge and passage ways and cloaks/luggage room); removal of rubbish/recycling; routine cleaning of fridge and dishwasher
  • Window cleaning and general maintenance, light bulb replacement, etc)
  • Repairs and renewals of communal furniture, furnishings and equipment
  • Internal and external decorating
  • Gardening
  • Assistance with form filling and other support services as necessary
  • Back up care and support during short-term illness
  • Prescription collection and delivery if required

Security (inclusive within monthly rental)

  • 24 hour emergency call facility, and first responders
  • Daily call or visit from home manager or nominated deputy

Facilities (inclusive within monthly rental)

  • Communal areas fully furnished; own or optionally, furniture can be provided for private en-suite bed-sitting rooms
  • Use of the residents’ computer (with internet/skype/webcam) at Harbour House, subject to time sharing with other users
  • Joining in with activities or trips out arranged for care home residents, subject to space (care home residents take priority)

Additional Services (available to purchase separately)

  • Cleaning of private en-suite bed-sitting rooms
  • Laundry service
  • Ironing service
  • Hairdressing and chiropody
  • Assisted bath or shower within the care home
  • Some low level support on a more regular basis
