John and Mary Anson opened the Lanner Natural Health Clinic in October 1995. John is a chartered accountant and Mary is a registered nurse and hypnotherapist. Both have a long-standing interest in natural health.

The clinic consists of three very attractively decorated and furnished treatment rooms in ideal premises with ample parking. The treatment rooms are on the first floor, over John's accountancy practice. Reception is shared between the two businesses and has a waiting area with natural therapy literature to read and take away. Kitchenette and toilet facilities, which are warm and attractively decorated, are also shared. There is an area on the ground floor which may be used by prior arrangement at certain times for clients who are unable to manage the stairs.

Acupuncture - Steve Todd

Acupuncture uses small needles placed in a very specific pattern in precise areas of the body. It can be used to treat a whole range of physical, emotional and mental problems, and is increasingly used in the treatment of addictions such as smoking.

Alexander Technique - Lesley Blay

The Alexander Technique addresses the fundamental causes of many cases of back pain, neck and shoulder tension, breathing disorders, stress-related illnesses and general fatigue where misuse and a loss of poise are contributory factors.

Aromatherapy - Barbara Westlake

A natural holistic form of healing utilising massage and manipulation combined with pure aromatic oils.

Homeopathy - David Retford

Homeopathy is a system of medicine discovered by a German physician 200 years ago. It uses a wide range of natural remedies, which are purified and potentized to bring out their full healing properties. Each remedy is carefully selected, after an in-depth consultation, to suit the individual concerned.

Hypnotherapy - Mary Anson

Hypnotherapy is used to relax the conscious mind and allow the therapist to contact the unconscious and treat the underlying causes of many physiological and emotional problems. The patient is in full control at all times.

Kinesiology - Barbara Westlake

Kinesiology is a language which allows us to communicate with our bodies. We use muscle testing to discover small, unnoticed imbalances, and correct them. This stops them accumulating and resulting in discomfort or disease later.

Massage - Steve Todd

A number of massage techniques are available, including Indian Head Massage.

Reiki - Barbara Westlake

Reiki (Ray-Key) uses Universal life-force energy to bring about balance and healing. It works on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Whereas running water smoothes away the jagged edges of a rock until small enough to roll away, Reiki flows to the areas of most need, soothing pain and supporting the body's own self healing powers.
