Tremethick House
Philosophy of care
Vision, Mission and Values
Our aim is to enable our residents to lead as full, dignified and independent a life
as possible regardless of age or family.
We achieve this by ensuring availability of all possible resources, both in the home
and the local community, which help empower each resident to maintain physical, social, emotional
and intellectual well-being. This enables the residents to continue to enjoy the freedom and
choices that are the right of all people regardless of health or social status.
The aim of the owners and staff at Tremethick House is to provide an atmosphere
in which all the residents, whatever their physical and psychological needs, will
feel able to live their lives contentedly in a safe and pleasant environment.
The staff will provide each resident with the level of care appropriate to their needs
in personal, dietary and recreational areas.
At the same time we will be aware of the importance of helping them to maintain as high
a level of independence as possible.
(Where nursing care needs become necessary the staff will access that care from the
community nursing service. If the time should come when full time nursing care becomes
appropriate, then every help will be given to enable a smooth transfer to a suitable
alternative home.)
We will make every effort to recognise the importance of the need of every resident to
exercise their freedom of choice and determine the pattern of their lives wherever possible.
Where privacy is required it will be provided; where companionship is needed it will be
available.
At the end of their lives we will use our knowledge and experience to ensure each resident
a peaceful, dignified and pain-free death, offering sympathy, understanding and support to
distressed relatives.
We will endeavour to provide a working environment in which all
staff are held in equal esteem and the value of their work recognised.
